Is this oil suitable for Direct Injection (DFI) engines?

This mineral TC-W3 oil is primarily designed for carbureted and standard electronic fuel injection (EFI) water-cooled engines. For Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) engines like Mercury Optimax or Evinrude E-TEC, we recommend checking your manual, as they often require a synthetic or semi-synthetic blend (TC-W3 DFI specific).

Can I use this in air-cooled engines like lawnmowers or chainsaws?

While this oil meets API TC standards, it is optimized for water-cooled marine environments. Air-cooled engines run at much higher temperatures; therefore, we recommend using a specific air-cooled 2-stroke oil unless TC-W3 is explicitly permitted by the tool manufacturer.
