Installation requires connecting the unit between the starter battery (IN) and the house/leisure battery (OUT). For modern vehicles with smart alternators, the D+ terminal must be connected to an ignition-fed 12V source. Ensure high-quality copper cabling (minimum 16-25mm² depending on run length) and appropriate fusing (approx. 80A) is used to handle the 60A charging current.
