Questions & Answers
Is this switch suitable for engine starting?
No. This switch is rated for 50A continuous current. Engine starting (cranking) typically requires 200A-500A+. This switch is designed for auxiliary circuits, solar controllers, and lighting systems.
How do I know if it is compatible?
Check that your continuous load does not exceed 50A and that your system voltage is 48V DC or lower. This fits standard off-grid battery configurations from 12V up to 48V.
What does the "OUT" position do?
In the "OUT" position, the knob/key can be fully removed. This acts as a security feature to prevent anyone from accidentally turning the power back on while you are away or working on the system.
Note: Please verify your total system amperage against the 50A rating before installation. For high-draw inverters, please see our higher-rated isolator models on Solarika.co.uk.
